Business Development Manager
SAG Netherlands is a producer and supplier of aluminium products from thin sheet metal, located in Katwijk (ZH). We specialize in manufacturing aluminium fuel tanks, hydraulic tanks, and related products for the automotive industry. In addition, we focus on developing and producing aluminium products that contribute to sustainable mobility and renewable energy. We are experts in providing customized aluminium products. With approximately 250 employees, we operate from our locations in Katwijk and Rijnsburg.
To strengthen our Engineering team, SAG Netherlands is looking for a Business Development Manager.
In this role, you will be responsible for identifying, developing, and implementing strategies to create and seize new business opportunities to increase the company’s revenue and profitability.
As a Business Development Manager, you will be part of the Engineering team (nine colleagues), responsible for developing existing and new products and processes in close collaboration with (new) customers. You will report to the Manager Operations. The position is available for 40 hours per week.
What will you do?
- Perform market and business proposition analysis for SAG Netherlands. Contribute to determining a good market and product mix (marketing) and work to increase product revenue.
- Visit companies and research institutions and attend events, conferences, and seminars to discover new opportunities. Identify the needs and requirements of (potential) customers.
- Transform opportunities into concrete commercial concepts. Guide the further commercial development of the product.
- Provide support to Sales in selling products in new markets.
- Prepare quotations and negotiate contracts.
- Contribute to the development of the strategy workbook and roadmap. Maintain contacts with (potential) customers to generate new assignments. Establish partnerships to smoothly, quickly, and successfully enter a new market.
- Monitor the internal and external commercial process. Handle orders of new product types from existing and new customers.
- Ensure internal communication: The Business Development Manager must work closely with other departments within the company, such as Sales, Marketing, and Production, to ensure that new business opportunities are exploited, and customer expectations are exceeded.
Who are you:
- HBO/WO work and thinking level (in a technical direction, e.g. Technical Business Administration, Mechanical Engineering).
- Strong communication skills in Dutch and English, German language is a plus.
- Energetic, driven, and excellent communication skills.
- Able to perform result-oriented tasks under pressure within the agreed-upon time.
- Knowledge of quality systems (IATF16949) is a plus.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience.
